TITLE: Cellular image and gene expression analysis for the understanding of cellular function.
In the current molecular and cellular biological studies, the data are largely the images of cells and the numerical data showing the levels of the expression of the genes and their products, proteins. There are ～25000 genes in human, and the expression levels of all of these genes have been supposed to explain all of the biological phenomena, including the images of the cells. However, the images of the cells had not been deduced from the gene expressions or vice versa, i.e., how the gene expression levels are converted into the cellular images, or the cell itself, had been unclear. I would like to talk about the image analysis of the cellular proteins that are mutually dependent on each other and would like to propose the possible methodology to combine the cellular images to the gene expressions, or even to the cellular behaviors.
