TITLE:
Modulation of Cell Membrane Structure and Function by Biomimetic Polymers
ABSTRACT:
The cell membrane is a supramolecular assembly of lipid molecules and membrane proteins that perform various complex functions. Our research group has developed synthetic polymers that induce biological functions by controlling the properties and structure of cell membranes. In this seminar, we will present several examples of membrane-active biomimetic polymers, such as antimicrobial molecules and lipid nanodiscs, and discuss their molecular design.
