Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Taito Matsuda (Neural Regeneration and Brain Repair Laboratory)
TITLE:
Towards Dissecting Neural Regeneration and Brain Repair with Bioinformatics
ABSTRACT:
Although neural regeneration is a widely shared goal in neuroscience, its realization remains difficult. Our lab has developed technologies to forcibly convert non-neuronal cells into neurons, offering potential new therapeutic strategies for neurological diseases such as stroke and spinal cord injury. In pursuing this work, we have leveraged transcriptomic and epigenomic analyses, combining both original and public datasets to help identify key regulators of cell fate conversion and neural regeneration. In this talk, I will present our recent findings and approaches, and also touch upon the limitations and practical considerations in making full use of public sequencing data.
