TITLE: Measurement informatics for material characterization and process engineering
Abstract:
Measurement informatics is one of the attractive research fields of information science applications because of its high importance and general versatility. This talk will present practical applications to material research following a general introduction to measurement informatics and material science. As applications to material characterization, direct prediction of electrical properties of defects in semiconductors, and adaptive spatial mapping of microbeam X-ray will be shown. As applications to material process engineering, optimization of thermal sensor position in a furnace, and real-time prediction of material property during the process will be shown. Finally, future issues and visions of measurement informatics will be discussed.
